Planning and Developing Learning Materials and an Introduction to eLearning Authoring Software
This course builds skill in developing outcomes-based learning programmes according to given design specifications. It focuses on planning, preparing for development, and developing learning materials. The participant is introduced to elearning authoring software and attains basic proficiency in developing elearning modules.

Objectives
At the end of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Analyse learning development briefs and produce development plans
- Plan and prepare for development
- Develop learning materials
- Create an elearning storyboard
- Use elearning software to create a basic interactive course module
Accreditation Information:
The programme aligns with the first two outcomes of the ETDP SETA Unit Standard ‘Develop Outcomes-Based Learning Programmes’ – SAQA ID 123394. It can be taken on its own and after successful completion participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Following this course, participants can take an additional 2-day course entitled ‘Developing Facilitation Guides and Evaluating Learning Programmes’, which offers the option of compiling a Portfolio of Evidence for assessment.
Successful completion of both courses leads to the attainment of the Unit Standard 123394 (10 credits – Level 05) and a Competence Certificate by the ETDP SETA.
Pre-requisites
Participants need to have a working knowledge of outcome-based education and training and be able to communicate in writing at NQF level 4. Learners also need to have a working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
